Made with Xara Rose Canyon was formed in 1977 in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Mike McKenzie (Drums), Gary Ormsbee (Guitar), Scott Sherman (Bass, Guitar) from a band called Nash joined forces with Steven Becker (Steel Guitar, Guitar) from a group called Buckshot and toured regionally through 1981. RCB shared the stage with Vince Gill, The Pure Prairie League, Charley Daniels Band, John Hartford and many more. RCB's brand of country rock with multiple harmonies & steel guitar was reminiscent of the sounds of groups like the Eagles, CSN & Y , Poco & Firefall to name a few. The group released the self penned the album (yes that's right, vinyl), Destiny, in June of 1980. One of the songs, Sunshine Lady, received regional airplay that summer. The band continued in various formations through 1983.2010 finds Mike, Gary, Scott And Steven joined by Gary Koepke (aka Ghost) resurrecting the style of music RCB played back in the day (as the kids say). Ghost, who use to play with The Bill Waters Band and Curly's Hat Band, brings his distinctive high harmony and a nice acoustic touch to the group. Look forward to hearing the sounds of the Eagles, CSN & Y and many others along with some RCB original tunes.
